Evie Wyld is the author of the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize winning novel After the Fire, A Still Small Voice.[1] In 2010 she was listed by The Daily Telegraph as one of the twenty best British authors under the age of 40.[2]
Born in 1980,[3] Evie Wyld grew up on her parents Sugar Cane farm in New South Wales although spent most of her grown-up life in South East London. In The Guardian she recounts how as a child she suffered from viral encephalitis.[4]
She obtained a B.A. from Bath Spa University and an M.A. from Goldsmiths, University of London, both in Creative Writing.
She took over from Nii Parkes as Booktrust's online 'Writer in Residence' in March 2009.[5] the position lasts for two years and has now passed to Clare Wigfall.[6]
Wyld now lives in Stockwell and works at an independent bookshop in Peckham.[7]
